What We Believe

The basis for our belief is the Bible.
1. The Scriptures
The Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is the record of God’s revelation to man. Ultimately, God is the author and therefore what is said in the Bible is true and without error.
2. God
There is one God who manifests Himself in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of the world, the redeemer of the world, and the ruler of the universe.
3. Humanity
Human beings were created in the image of God. As a result, human personality is worthy of dignity and Christian love. Though created in God’s image, that image was marred when humanity rebelled against God and chose to live a life on their own.
4. Salvation
Salvation occurs in an individual’s life when that individual recognizes he is a sinner, believes Jesus Christ died for his sin and rose again on the third day, and as a result, turns toward God and trusts in Him alone to be Lord and Savior.
5. Growth
Every Christian will grow closer to God and as a result will be more like God inside and outside. This growth will take place in the life of a Christian until their death. Christian growth focuses on loving God and loving others as the center of the Christian life.
6. The Church
Church is a local body of baptized believers who commit to gather together for the purpose of showing others the way, teaching the truth, and living the life in the context of community.
7. Baptism & Lord’s Supper
Baptism is a new believer’s identification with Christ and the church. It is symbolic of the death of our old life and the raising up of our new life. Baptism is by immersion.
Lord’s Supper is our continued identification with Christ. In taking the bread and the cup, we continue to proclaim Jesus’ death and resurrection.
8. Marriage
The Bible says God made a man and a woman for marriage. God’s intention for the union is a life-long partnership. The church will only support, encourage, and perform marriages between a man and a woman.
9. Last Things
The Bible teaches that this world will one day come to an end. According to His promise, Jesus Christ will return and judge the world. Those who rejected Christ will be rejected. Those who accepted Christ will live with Him forever.
